State Governor, Nyesom Wike said the alleged propaganda by critics would not
deter his administration's plans to rebuild the state.
Amid
criticism by the aspirant to his position, Dakuku Peterside, Wike said he was
focusing on the task of reviving a region ravaged by alleged corruption of the
immediate past All Progressives Congress administration.
The
People's Democratic Party official said the mandate of the people of given
during the governorship elections in April tasked him to use the resources of
the state to develop all parts of the state and all sectors of the economy.
“Despite
inheriting a state crippled by the immediate past administration in the state,
our refreshing governance initiatives have set Rivers State on the path of
development," said Wike.
He
added that the current administration had started the process of rehabilitating
major public primary and secondary schools across the state after reopening all
public schools on account of the debt owed by the former administration.
Wike
said the roads constructed and being rehabilitated by the administration across
the state were well over 150 kilometres.
He
said the economy of Rivers State was in good health with the state government
meeting its financial obligations to workers, pensioners and contractors.
