State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday directed the payment of April and May
salaries of civil servants in the state.
He
said the directive was in line with his commitment to the welfare of civil
servants in the state.
The
governor inherited the two months’ salaries from the immediate past
administration in the state.
He
assured civil servants that he would give their welfare top priority in his
administration.
He
also expressed his commitment to promoting the interest of all people resident
in the state.
The
governor also stated that funding would not be a challenge in the state
government's commitment to rehabilitate and reconstruct key roads in Port
Harcourt.
Speaking during
his inspection tour of the
East-west -Elelenwo-TransAmadi-Garrison Road, Wike assured contractors that his administration had taken
steps to ensure that road projects were
funded.
He
charged the contractor handling the
East
West-Elelenwo-TransAmadi-Garrison Road to work towards the established October
completion date.
His
words: "I am not satisfied with
the pace of work on this road.
But I understand the reason for the slow pace.”
