Igbani is new speaker, RSHA

Deputy Speaker, Marshall Uwom

Ikunyi Igbani is the new speaker of the 8^th Rivers State House of Assembly after he was unanimously elected on Monday in Port Harcourt.

Igbani represents Andoni Constituency.

Marshall Uwom from Abua Odual was elected as Deputy Speaker of the 8^th Assembly.

The Rivers State House of Assembly complex was declared open by Governor Nyesom Wike for the 8th Assembly.

The complex had been under lock since July 9, 2013.

Marshall Uwom was a former Commissioner for lands under for Governor Chibuike Amaechi administration.

Governor Wike had charged the state lawmakers to conduct their affairs within the confines of the law.

Governor Wike made good his promise on inauguration day to reopen the House of Assembly and the High Court.
