Wike gets government rolling with appointments

After his inauguration day appointment of an acting chief judge for the state, governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike has gone on a spree, announcing key officers into his government.

On Thursday, June 4, 2015, Brother Felix Obuah was named as Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency.

The governor had earlier met with Sanitation contractors charging them to return the city to its former glorious state of neatness.

On appointment of Obuah, Wike charged him to clean up Port Harcourt streets within seventy two hours.

Kenneth Kobani, who served of commissioner of finance under Dr. Peter Odili between 2003 and 2007 is now the Secretary to the State Government.

Kobani was also Minister for Commerce and Industry in the latter days of President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.

Chukwuemeka Woke was Director General of the campaign that brought the governor into office was named Chief of Staff on Friday morning.

Emeka Woke used to be  chairman of Emohua Local Government Area a few years ago.

In the same vein, Opunabo C. Inko-Tariah, JP, Publisher of HardTruth a Port Harcourt based tabloid is now Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Dr. A. J. Beredugo is Senior Special Assistant on Research and Documentation.

Gilbert Nria and Imeh Fubara have also been appointed to serve as Senior Special Assistants, office of the Deputy Governor.

The name of Emma Okah has been sent in for screening and it is expected that he will be named Commissioner for Information.
